英语句中的省略句问题
1：in my opinion,life in the twenty-first century is much easier than it used to be、这句to be是省略了什么啊?
2:i do not tell him the news、
oh,you ought to have.这里have指什么、直接you ought to(tell him the news)把括号里的省了不就行了?

1. life in the twenty-first century is much easier than (life which) it used to be.肯定是life与life比嘛.in the twenty-first century 修饰限制说明是现在的生活；定语从句which it used to be修饰限制,说明是过去的生活.
which相当于this kind of life, 将定语从句的先行词life带进去,就是it used to be this kind of life.(life which) it used to be说的就是过去那样的生活.
2. 补充完整you ought to have told him the news . ought to have done结构,表示本来该做某事,而实际未做. 若时态、语态未发生变化,当然可以就用ought to就可以,此句是有变化的情况.
有点纠结.有不懂的点提出来~
