Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
I am honor to stand here to give you a speech.The topic is “Bilingual is a kind of lifestyle”.In the following speech,I may concentrate on the importance of different languages in our daily life.
Every day I attend classes which are taught in either Chinese or English.After class I chat freely with my friends in Chinese.In leisure time,I watch English cartoons and American movies to know more about their cultures and enjoy the pure language in other nations.To master two or more than two kinds of languages has become a fashionable way of living.
Perhaps you will ask why.Why bilingual is fashionable?We can read newspapers in Chinese,we can watch movies and cartoons which have been translated into Chinese,and we can even have an interpreter around us when we have to talk with a foreigner.But have you ever thought about these?Have you ever thought about that there are so many differences between the original material and a translation?You can hardly get the original tone no matter iconic or humorous in a translated version.Have you ever sensed the indifference of a foreign reporter which you can hardly recognize in a Chinese version?Have you ever secretly admired those who can talk freely with foreigners and make friends throughout the world?If your answer is yes,it means that you have already admitted bilingual is another kind of lifestyle.
Please close your eyes and just imagine this.When you are walking down the street receiving a call from one of your foreign friends,you talk to him over the phone in English.When your mother is confused about the instructions of the new electronic equipment written in English,translate it for her and she will be proud of you.Sounds very cool,isn’t it?
Bilingual has become a new fashion in the 21st century.People all over the world are learning foreign languages; of course,among them there is a large amount of foreigners are learning Chinese.Just adapt yourselves to this new lifestyle and enjoy life to the fullest!

先生们和女士们,早上好!
（我）很荣幸在这里演讲.我演讲的主题是“谙熟两种语言是一种生活方式”.下面我会关注各种语言在我们日常生活中的重要性.
每天我都要上课,老师会使用英语或汉语.课后,我流畅地用汉语与朋友交流.我看英国卡通,我看美国电影,这样我可以更多地了解他们的文化,欣赏其它国家纯净的语言.掌握两种或以上的语言已经成为了时尚的生活方式.
也许你会问到原因.为什么谙熟两种语言是时尚的?毕竟我们可以读汉语报纸,我们可以看已经译为汉语的电影和卡通,当我们必须与外国人交谈时,我们甚至可以请一位翻译.但是否真的考虑过这些呢?您是否想过原文和译文之间可能有诸多的差异?你难以获得原始的语气语调,无论在翻译过来的语言是讽刺（ironic吧）也好,幽默也好.你是否曾经感觉到外国记者的漠不关心,而你在汉语版里面根本感觉不到?你是否曾经暗暗佩服那些能够与外国人流畅地交流、在世界各地结交朋友的人?如果的确如此,这意味着,您已经承认了谙熟两种语言是另外一种生活方式.
请闭上双眼,想想这样的情景.当你正在沿街行走,这是你接到了某位外国朋友的电话,在电话里你用英语和他交谈.当你的妈妈看到新电子设备的英文说明书一片迷茫时,你翻译给她听,而她为你感到骄傲.这听起来很酷,不是吗?谙熟两种语言已经成为了21世纪一种新的时尚.当然世界各地的人们都在学习外语,其中也有大量的外国人正在学习汉语.那么就请适应这种新的生活方式,最最充分地享受生活吧!
