1.The workers went to strike against the government's plan (to raise) the prices of daily neccessities.为什么用to raise

为什么不用used to do

这里speak是动词,是不是把它后面的名词给省略了啊,比如可能有什么english之类的.

1.to raise the prices of daily neccessities为不定式短语做后置定语,修饰plan,即“提高日常必需品的价格的（政府）计划”.
因为只是个plan“计划”,不定式所表动作当时并未发生,所以一般用不定式做后置定语,the plan to do sth也算是一个固定搭配.
2.也可以补充说成used to swim,但是swim这个动词前句已经提过,为了避免重复,后句予以省略而已,这在语法上称之为不定式的省略.
3.此句应该有误,一般是pretend to do sth,如果强调是“假装正在做某事”,应该说成pretend to be watching TV,但是不能说pretend watching TV.
4.speak如果加语言的话,可以视为及物动词,如speak English等.
但如果不是此搭配,则speak更多视为是不及物动词,其后一般不直接加宾语,而是单独使用或加介宾/副词.
楼主自己可以去搜索speak的用法,它做不及物动词居多.
