After reading “The Titanic Story”
The White Star Shipping Line was very proud when they announced in 1912 that their”supership”-the Titanic-was ready to make her first voyage across the Atantic.As you know,at the beginning of the 20th century,Titanic was the largest and best ship in the world.And it was also the most luxurious and the safest ship on the seas.It was called “the ship which would never sink”.But right at its first voyage,it sank.And more than 60% people in the journey lost their livies.That was the “THE TITANIC STORY”told us.It was not be a romantic love story any more,but told us the truth about the truly story.
What caused the Titanic sink?
I thought the answer was confidence.
Before the voyage,the company ,the newspapers,even the covernment,both of them said “The Titanic will never sink.”Thus,everybody thought that the Titanic was unsinkable.In that voyage,because of confidence,the ship had only20 lifeboats.Because they thought they would not to use them.Put too many lifeboats on the ship looked smart.But,there were not enough to carry all the passengers and crew.
We often said,anyway,confidence is the most important think,but,When the confidence liked that,what shoud we do?Dumped it!When the confidence became pride,what should we do?Of course,dumped it!Dumped it as quikely as you can!Just imagine,if at that time,the Titanic had enough lifeboats,what was the result?Maybe more and more people could live.But the history could not change.So we must remenbered this even forever.
