2.2 The different customs
The different customs has many aspects,however the typical aspect is the attitude on the dog.Dog is a kind of humble animal in Chinese and most idioms in Chinese have derogatory meanings,such as“狐朋狗友”,“狼心狗肺”,“狗急跳墙”etc.While in westen country,dog is regarded as the loyal friend of people and it often be used to describe person,such as,You are a lucky dog（你是一个幸运儿）;Every dog has his day（凡人皆有得意日）;Old dog will mot learn new tricks（老人学不了新东西）etc.
2.3 The different religion believes
Some idioms contain the words that come from religionbelieves.Buddhism spreaded to China a thousand years ago,people believe that the Buddha is surveying everything among persons.There are some idioms with Buddha in Chinese——“借花献佛”、“闲时不烧香,临时抱佛脚” and so on.However in westen country people believe in Christianity so these idioms came up——Good helps those who help themselves（上帝帮助自助的人）；Go to hell（下地狱去).

In English and Chinese here are lots of idioms that come from history allusion.These idioms have simple structure but deep meanings so we cannot translate literally.For example,“东施效颦”、“名落孙山”、“叶公好龙”etc.Many idioms come from Bible and Greece andRome legends,such as Achilles’heel（唯一致命弱点）;meet one’s waterloo（一败涂地）;Penelope’s web（永远完不成的工作）;a Pandora's box（潘多拉之盒枣灾难、麻烦、祸害的根源) etc.
