now,in my school,we have what we call class periods,and that's the time for classes.we have 5 of them,and lunch comes in between one class,which means we get out a little earlier and we don't have much class time during that time.we switch classes every 12 weeks,switching 3 times in the year.we are ordered to go 185 days a year,but with the weather and how that works out,we sometimes miss days,plus we can miss up to 10 days if we're sick or if there's an emergency at home.we have 3 major breaks,spring break,which lasts one week,winter break,which lasts about 1 1/2 -2 weeks on average,and then summer,which lasts about 2 1/2 months.
Right now,I'm taking Algebra (math),Choir (singing),biology (science),english (reading and writing),and gym (exercising).we have bells to tell us when to get to class,we have big heavy books,we can't eat or drink in class,we have tests and assignments,we hold our books in what we call lockers...which are like really small closets.
we have private schools mostly religious schools),montessori schools (k-8 grade),elementary schools (schools for k-5 grade),middle/ junior high schools (for 6-8),and high schools for 9-12 grade.
