中国人招待客人时,一般都准备了满桌美味佳肴,不断地劝客人享用,自己还谦虚：“没什么菜,吃顿便饭.薄酒一杯,不成敬意.”行动上多以主人为客人夹菜为礼.但西方人会却对此大惑不解：明明那么多菜,却说没什么菜,这不是实事求是的行为.而他们请客吃饭,菜肴特别简单.经常以数量不多的蔬菜为可口的上等菜,席间劝客仅仅说：“Helpyourself to some vegetables,please.” 吃喝由客人自便自定.
二、一个中国家庭移民美国,一天孩子生病,父亲懂一些中国传统医学,给小孩子做刮痧,于是孩子身体出现了血印.一位美国邻居看到了孩子身上的血印大吃一惊,认为孩子受到了虐待并报了警.然后警察来拘捕了这位父亲.这个故事说明一个国家的治疗方法,父母对孩子的关爱在另一种文化背景下却是犯罪行为.

when Chinese people invite people to eat , they usually have a full table of delicious food, and tell people to keep on eating, and say it's not much, and the action will be helping people to get food.but western people are very confused by that:there is lots of food on the table, but they say there is not much, that is not telling the truth. when they invite people for food,the food are very simple. usually have rare vegetables for upper-class food,they say help yourself to some vegetables , please when telling people to eat.the eating is up to the guests.
2. a Chinese family moved to America, one day, the child got sick,the father knows some traditional medicine and did it for the child, so the child had blood marks on his body. a american neighbor saw it and was very surprised, thought they were having child abuse and called the police.the police came and captured the father.this story tells us ,one cure in a country, a father's love to his child might be crime in another culture background.
