9.1.OEM Test Motors are to operate at the OEM facilities on a rigid mounting base (mounting base should have sufficient matting or dampening between itself and concrete floor where used so as not to introduce any shock loads into the unit) or balancing machine with the motor firmly secured.The residual unbalance and vibration readings of the uncoupled and unloaded motor shall be measured with the level of unbalance being in compliance with an ISO 6.3 balance grade See figure 4 for example balance chart indicating maximum
allowable residual unbalance.The overall vibration reading shall be taken with a general purpose accelerometer with a mounted resonance in excess of 5KHz and data collector configured to take vibration data at 800 lines,with an Fmax of 2000Hz (120,000 CPM) using a Hanning window,four (4) averages with 50% overlap in the window averaging.The accelerometer should be magnetic or adhesive mounted at or as close to the bearing location as possible and measurements taken in the x,y and z axis.The maximum overall average vibration (OA) in any plane (axis) should not exceed 0.15 inches per second when measured at rated speed or that of the incumbent whichever is the lesser.Also where possible a narrow band spectral analysis shall be conducted with maximum acceptable limits as shown figure 3.
