As a maintenance or flight department manager a primary concern is the safe and efficient condition of your aircraft.Key to this is finding the right people to perform or oversee the work.Of course you want technical skill and expertise within your staff,but you also want dependability,dedication and commitment — in other words a professionalism.
When a person is actively involved in education and training programs,networking with and mentoring other professionals,or providing leadership to a group,that's pretty good evidence of character.Technicians who are active in professional organizations such as PAMA demonstrate commitment to self-improvement and to their profession.
