The Challenge
The Land Transport Authority (LTA),authority in charge of terrestrial transports in Singapore,started in 1998 the construction of the third metro line of Singapore,the "North East Line".
The line,with twenty kilometres of tunnel,includes sixteen stations and one depot.The line is served by fully automated trains.
Thales,jointly with the Singaporean company STE,has been contracted for the turnkey implementation of an Integrated Supervisory & Control System including traffic management,fixed equipment management and communication management.
The Solutions
The Integrated Supervisory and Control System includes automation features and operation support:
• Traffic management
• Monitoring and control of power distribution substation and traction power
• Monitoring and control of air conditioning and ventilation units
• Monitoring and control of auxiliary equipments (lighting,smoke detectors,escalators,lifts,platform screen doors,access control etc.)
• Technical supervision of on board equipment
• Communication system management in station and on board (telephone system,video system,public address system,passenger information display system,etc.)
• Incident management in station and on rail including train failure
The overall represents approximately 100 000 database points.
