CH3COCH2-CH(COONa)2 + 2HCl → CH3COCH2-CH(COOH)2 + 2NaCl
CH3COCH2-CH(COOH)2 → CH3COCH2-CH2-COOH + CO2↑
EtOOC-CH2-COOEt + EtONa → EtOOC-CHNa-COOEt + EtOH
EtOOC-CHNa-COOEt + CH3COCH2Cl → CH3COCH2-CH(COOEt)2 + NaCl
